Punjab Issues 47.2 Lakh Health Cards Under MMSY, Covers 23 Lakh Families: CM Bhagwant Mann

Punjab MMSY: 47.2 Lakh Health Cards Issued, 23 Lakh Families Covered – CM Mann

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday reviewed the progress of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana (MMSY) and announced that 47.2 lakh health cards have been issued so far, covering nearly 23 lakh families across the state.

According to the Punjab government, around 3.7 lakh patients have already received cashless treatment worth ₹654 crore under the scheme in both government and private hospitals.

The CM stated that 835 hospitals have been empanelled under the scheme, including 223 government hospitals and 612 private hospitals, ensuring wider access to healthcare services across Punjab.

Officials also shared demographic data of beneficiaries, revealing that 48.5% of the health card holders are men while 51.5% are women. Around 69% of the cards have been issued in rural areas, while 31% were distributed in urban regions.

Bhagwant Mann said the state government is working to simplify the registration and card download process. A dedicated WhatsApp-based facility, website support system, and mobile application are being developed to help beneficiaries easily access their e-health cards.

The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana aims to provide health cards to all 65 lakh families in Punjab, with every family eligible for cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh annually.

Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh also stated that more than 3,000 respiratory patients suffering from pneumonia, asthma, and COPD have already benefited under the scheme, with nearly ₹86 lakh spent on treatment.
